Summary: Black-membrane biogas lagoons use black HDPE geomembrane as both basin liner and gas cover. Typical thickness 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm for large or deep lagoons. Note: no dedicated national standard exists for biogas lagoons; the membrane follows GB/T 17643-2025 and construction refers to SL/T 231.

Installation Steps
- Excavate and compact basin, slopes not steeper than 1:1.5
- Lay cushion geotextile if base is poor
- Unroll membrane over base and slopes with slack allowance
- Double-seam welding, test every seam
- Anchor at top trench, install gas vent and water seal
- Water/feed test then commission
